Amazon Tahuayo Paradise – Peruvian Amazon

Recommended Fishing Season
The best time for sport fishing at Amazon Tahuayo Paradise is from June through
October 15th, when the river levels are lower, providing excellent access to remote
oxbow lakes, lagoons, and hidden channels. These months offer ideal conditions for
targeting the legendary Peacock Bass and the magnificent Arapaima (Pirarucu), one of
the largest freshwater fish in the world.

DAY 1 | Your Fishing Adventure Begins

Get ready for the fishing adventure of a lifetime in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon.
Upon your arrival in Iquitos, our team will meet you at the airport or your hotel for your
transfer to Amazon Tahuayo Paradise. The journey includes ground transportation
followed by approximately 3.5 hours of navigation along the Amazon and Tahuayo Rivers.
Along the way, you will witness the spectacular Meeting of the Waters while enjoying
breathtaking rainforest scenery.
Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing local fruit drink and
escorted to your private bungalow.
After lunch, prepare your fishing gear for your first afternoon on the water. Explore nearby
oxbow lakes and natural channels in search of the aggressive Peacock Bass and other
fascinating Amazonian fish species.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2 | Full-Day Sport Fishing Expedition

After breakfast, depart early for a full-day fishing expedition to some of the most
productive fishing grounds within the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Regional Conservation
Area.
Spend the day exploring remote lagoons, hidden oxbow lakes, and narrow jungle channels
where trophy-sized Peacock Bass are commonly found.
Our experienced fishing guides will select the best fishing locations according to water
conditions and fish activity to maximize your chances of success.
Box lunch served during the excursion.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 | In Search of the Giant Arapaima

Today’s expedition is dedicated to one of the Amazon’s greatest fishing challenges—the
legendary Arapaima (Pirarucu).
Known for its enormous size, incredible strength, and spectacular surface strikes, the
Arapaima offers an unforgettable experience for passionate anglers.
Throughout the day, you may also encounter other remarkable Amazonian fish, including:
• Peacock Bass
• Arowana
• Paco
• Piranha
• Oscar
Lunch served during the excursion.
Return to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 | Explore New Fishing Hotspots

After breakfast, continue your adventure by exploring different fishing locations
throughout the reserve.
Our guides will lead you to remote lagoons and untouched waterways, providing new
opportunities to catch trophy Peacock Bass and other exciting Amazonian species.
While navigating through the rainforest, keep an eye out for monkeys, colorful birds, pink
river dolphins, giant river otters, and other incredible wildlife.
Lunch during the excursion.
Enjoy your final afternoon of fishing before returning to the lodge for a farewell dinner.
DAY 5 | Final Fishing Session & Return to Iquitos
Early in the morning, enjoy one last fishing opportunity before breakfast.
Afterward, begin the return journey to Iquitos by boat along the Tahuayo and Amazon
Rivers.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport or your hotel according to your travel
schedule.
